There has been a stand off between the armies of China and India at Doklam plateau in Bhutan. China had been constructing a motor vehicle road on the borders of a plateau in Bhutan, however China has claimed that the region has belonged to China since ancient times.
The People Liberation Army (PLA) warned Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat to stop clamoring for war and that his statement that India was ready for a two and a half front war if China doesn’t uphold territorial borders was extremely irresponsible.
However, according tp Bhutan, China and Bhutan have written agreements of 1988 and 1998 stating that the two sides agree to maintain peace and tranquility in their border areas, and to maintain status quo on the boundary as before March 1959.
Bhutan has already asked the Chinese side to leave it’s territory and that the construction of a road inside Bhutanese territory is a direct violation of the agreements.
Most people do think that if there weren’t international laws and organizations, China would be on it’s way to annex most of the neighboring countries and seas, considering it has a variety of issues such as South China Sea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, One Belt One Road, Bhutan, Tibet, South Korea, US, North Korea. The list is unending.
